Birthday Wishes to Astero Reader Josie Hidalgo Griffith
This week we would like to take a moment to wish Jose Hidalgo Griffith a very happy 89th birthday on Sunday, the 19th. I believe that Josie must be the most avid Astero reader out there. Without fail, she writes every Thursday to thank us for that week's edition and often has great stories or memories to go along with them. Besides teaching immigrants from 12 different countries English for some 30 years, Josie was also a big supporter of putting together a Basque club in Arizona. Her efforts came to fruition in 1999, with the "Arizona Basque Gathering." The event included informational presentations as well as dance performances by Zenbat Gara. For all of her past efforts, and continued interest in Basque culture in America, we thank you, Josie, and wish you all the best. Zorionak Josie!
