HI KANTARI: NABOs Mini-songbook project

This pocket-size songbook is an effort to get us singing some more!  Entitled Hi Kantari ("You're a Basque Singer") the booklet is a multi-faceted promotion of the Basque language, mus and of course singing.  These pocket-sized booklets were made available to NABO member organizations who then distributed them.

The pocket-size booklet that collects several dozen songs that were selected based on the following criteria including: general familiarity of the song either here or in the Basque Country; variety of songs from different parts of the Basque Country and from fast to slow songs; a simple tune that's easy to follow, and is it a good sitting around a table or standing in a circle song (i.e., good for hitting the table; good for embracing and swaying back and forth, etc.) and the results of a recent survey in the Basque Country that yielded some favorites.

PROMOTION
The hope is that each community will take an active interest in promoting the song booklet and organizing events to encourage more singing.
